Elizabeth Carjacking Attorney
Elizabeth Police arrested a man after police say they found him driving a stolen car while carrying heroin early Thursday morning. According to police, the vehicle was reported as carjacked about 3 hours before police saw the suspect driving the stolen vehicle. The suspect was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The victim was a 38-year-old woman who told police she had pulled over in the 400 block of Union Avenue when a man approached her, demanding she get out of the car and give him all her money. The man was described as “armed with an object in a black sock,” which the driver believed was a gun. The victim stepped out of her car and the suspect jumped into her car leaving the woman physically unharmed. Police eventually arrested the man without incident after he parked the vehicle. A subsequent search of the suspect’s person turned up bags of heroin. He was arrested and is now being held on $20,000 bail in Union County Jail.
